Around August, 2006 I received a phone call after having my ad up on AutoTrader for a month, wanting to sign me up for their 'scam'. They were nice as can be so I listened but told them I already had my ad up on AutoTrader. They told me to check out their website because it is fully refundable, so they sent me something via email.
I looked and called the lady back and decided to give it a try, after all what did I have to lose, right? That was the only time I could ever access their website. Then I researched them a little further and changed my mind- it had been an hour. I called the lady back and told her I didn't want to got through with it, she then got rude and told me i could get my money back in 90 days (not saying anything about the fact that it had to be postmarked within 7 days of that 90 days).
So I did not send her any photos or info about my car, and when I called just to test them, because I could NEVER find my ad, that I was told would only cost 90-something dollars. It ended up costing me $160!
I tried disputing it through my credit card but they said that I could later get my money back after the 90 days had passed. So I waited, and late December I printed the form for the money-back guarantee got it notarized and sent it in.
A few days ago I received a letter back stating that since it had been 123 days I was not eligible for the money-back. Well I called and from the minute the receptionist answered the phone she was rude, I have never had such terrible service in my life!! I could not believe it.
You know that theory if you get great service that person will tell a couple of their friends but if you get horrible service that person will tell at least 11 people... well lets just say I already did my part!!
Needless to say, I disputed the charge again and this time added the rude service, the lady helping me dispute the charge was very nice and pretty surprised. She said that it shouldn't be a problem.
DO NOT sell your car through this rip-off company. I asked them what they did to try to sell my car and the lady on the other end got very defensive and started going off on how there are no photos or info. about my car. She tried to tell me about how they get scammed because of the people who actually sell their car and try to get their money-back, I told her thats crap and she said that she is "now going to transfer me to their automated system"- WHAT WILL THAT DO!!??
grrrrr, idiots can't even run an honest business!! go figure
