Not honoring warranty for appliances Kingston

I recently bought a Samsung stove. The stove was quite expensive and I thought that the attage 'you get what you pay for' would hold up. Not true. One of the knobs to turn the stove on broke after only a few months.

Samsung's warranty states that "Samsung Electronics Canada, Inc. warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship encountered in normal, non-commercial use of this product".

On the phone, the Samsung rep told me that by turning the knob too hard I misused the equipment and therefore the warranty will not cover the damage. If simply turning the knob to a temperature equals misuse then I guess the stove was not designed to be used at all.

The fact is that it broke under normal use and is stated in the warranty to be covered, yet they refuse and say the onus is on me to prove that it was not misused.
