PAT HARRIS AND ADRIAN WORLEY HANDYMAN SERVICES
Beware!

I was not even going to bother replying but I take exception to being called "crazy" and can't let so many blatant lies go. My neighbour sent the original post and I am fully supporting his statements.

1. I, not George Michael, am the one who originally contacted Pat Harris and Adrian Worley about the job. George, a friend, simply asked questions on our behalf as he has experience in the field. Mr. Worley was paid directly by us, not George. Please look up the definition of "sub-contractor".

2. Mr. Worley was given the boundary map as we expected he would mark the boundary lines as part of his job.

3. My going into labour early has nothing to do with the terrible job Mr. Worley did. Why would a difference of 3 weeks have anything to do with the quality of a job?

4. Yes, the soil is terrible in our subdivision. However, that did not seem to stop the subsequent company we hired (a professional one) from doing an excellent job. They arrived early in the morning with 2 workers and their own professional equipment (a full-sized augur, not a rented one-man job from Home Depot). Despite poor conditions (rain all day), they completed the job in one day. I could hear comments through our open window such as "This hole isn't even one-foot deep" - in reference to the job Mr. Worley had done. Post holes are supposed to be 3 - 4 feet deep. We had a few people come in for quotes to fix the mess Mr. Worley left behind. They were all in agreement - this was the WORST job they had ever seen. Four different people, who have worked in this subdivision, can not be making this up!

5. Mr. Worley was not asked to leave when the job was done, and no complaint was made because everyone was at work except for me. I was upstairs putting our son down for a nap (an hour long job) and let him know, in advance, that I would be unavailable for that hour. When I came downstairs, he was gone (leaving all the garbage in our backyard). When my husband and neighbours arrived home from work, they were shocked at the job and immediately called Mr. Worley. He answered his phone and agreed to return on Monday evening (3 days later) as he was busy until then. He did not show up. Since that phone call, THIS IS THE FIRST TIME ANY OF US HAVE HEARD FROM HIM... and it's not even a direct address.

6. As for the boundary markers being removed, this is the FIRST TIME we are hearing about this. It is a blatant lie that Mr. Worley informed us they were not to be removed. How could he have told us so when he refused to answer any of our emails, phone calls or texts? Please imagine coming home to fence posts that look like the attached pictures and then receiving absolutely no response after numerous attempts to contact the serviceman? It is exactly what it looks like: A crook who took our money and ran after doing a poor job.

7. After Mr. Worley did not show up on the Monday evening, I sent an email (included in the original post). Again, no response. At that point - 5 days after the completion of the job - we realised Mr. Worley had no intention of contacting us. We began to research his "company" to see if we could find an alternate number number/email. The numbers we called were on the internet and attached to his name. The accusation that our phone calls were nasty or threatening is absurd! We are sane, educated, professional adults who would not stoop to such devices. I am not surprised by this backlash as I know former high school teachers of Mr. Worley who do not have many positive things to say of his character.

8. When Mr. Worley finally contacted George (why he did not respond to us, I still do not know), he mentioned that he had gone to the police. We were astounded! After all, we were the ones with the complaint. We immediately went directly to the Durham Police headquarters and were told that no claim had been filed against us. In addition, after hearing our situation and viewing our photos, we were told that we were not wrong in actively trying to pursue Mr. Worley and that our numerous attempts would not be viewed as harrassment as we were simply customers trying to lodge a complaint with a service provider who REFUSED TO RETURN OUR CALLS.

9. At no point did we threaten Mr. Worley with violent acts. I am shocked and amazed at this accusation. I am, in actuality, dumbfounded by Mr. Worley's post in general - as if HE is the one who has been "hard done by". There are 3 families involved here, all of whom are in agreement that the job was shoddily done and, even worse, that the refusal to follow up is completely unprofessional. We are out thousands of dollars as he was paid in full and then we had to pay another company to re-do the job.

Mr. Worley, this matter has not gone to rest. We have gone the legal route, after not hearing from you, and you will be dealt with fairly... eventually. There is much bureaucracy and red tape to get through but we have persevered as we refuse to let others out there get swindled by you.

It is a shame that it has come to this. If you had simply returned our original phone call, we would be saving the system a huge amount of time and money.

Unashamed to sign my name,

Camilla Rayman Bricknell
