Days Inn
Scam of charges
I booked a room at days inn for a conference i was attending in canada. i book through expedia.com for a really good rate. at check in i was told i had a balance of $250. i informed the guy at the front desk it already pre-paid. he said it was for a deposit "incase a chair gets broken." thats understandable, if i had a business i would want to insure i wasn't losing out on my investment, so i paid the deposit with my credit card. no big deal right? the guy also said that at check out all i have to do is come down and ask for the charge to be reversed from my card. ok no big deal. i spent my time in canada and check out as i was instucted only to find out 3 days later that my deposit was never refunded. confused about this i called and asked what happend to my deposit. the same front desk guy stated, you got charged for the "chair you broke." now i'm not a rocket scientist but i know i didn't break any chairs in that room. i said what chair did i break because i was hardly in that room long enough to even sit in a chair. he stated with extreme attitute and cockiness " the chair in that room and i have pictures of it" that's when the light bulb went on... this is a scam because obviously he had intentions of double charging me. if i had broken anything in that room i would be more than willing to pay for a replacement, however if you just want to scam people out of thier hard earned money well that's a different story... i will never stay at days inn anywhere ever again. if it goes on at one i wonder how many other days inn hotels run the same scam. how many other people have had this same issue?
