When Primus Canada contacted me about one year ago offering landline and internet service at half the price I was paying, I couldnt resist the deal. Thats where my nightmare began. I was sent a modem for my internet service and tried to connect it. I was getting error messages. I called Primus Customer Service and spent 2 hours listening to how important my call was and that someone would help me. Finally I gave up and decided to try the next night. Again over two hours and I could not get through. I tried a third time and spent about an hour to no avail.
Around the same time my landline was switched over. I ordered Call Display. Sometimes the telephone problems were fine. Other times we could hear the caller but they could not hear us. The Call Display never worked.
I called Primus and told them the problems. They agreed to waive a $40 fee and mail me a container to mail back the modem in. All of a sudden Primus starts harassing me for a $40 Disconnection charge. I politely explained that I am not paying a Disconnection charge when they could never connect me. The harassment continued. Now my account has been sent to collection in the amount of $55.
I will probably agree to pay $15 if they send me a letter stating they will take no further action. I believe I do owe the company a balance of $15 for long distance. The $40 Disconnection charge, forget it. If the collection agency keeps calling I could always switch back to Primus Canada and then I wont have to worry about getting phone calls.
