Why oh why could I not find these reports on Canadian Snack Supply Ltd. before I gave then $30, 000??? All these reports on this website are a play by play account of what happened to me as well.
These people are smooth operators, I felt like I did my homework and I truly belived in this business.
I answered an add in the Calgary Herald for $200K/year job as a Nabisco Distributor. (Does Nabisco know there name is being used in this way?) I was "awarded" an all expense paid interview in Toronto. They actually just just take the cost of the trip off the business buy in value.
I met with a man named Mark Becker for the interview. He was charismatic, and a very smooth talker. He really made me feel like he was searching for the right people to do this business. He asked alot of questions about me, just like any interview, and by the end he said I was a very good fit for this business and he will root for me in the next board meeting. I must admit I felt pretty good about that. Just goes to show how smooth he is. At the end of the inerview he looked my in the eye and said "If you are selected for this business, and follow our model you WILL make $200, 000 your first year".
Well guess what, I was selected and I was excited. They requested the $30, 000 investment in exchange for the accounts, snack machines, on going support and unlimited expansion. They even said I had exclusive rights to Calgary. I gave them the money and everything went down hill from there.
They promised my vending machines would come in a month and we'll have your accounts set up shortly after. Seven months later, with many un-returned phone calls, and endless excuses, finally a man representing Monarch Account Services (Apparently contracted by Canadian Snack Supply) comes to show me my accounts. His name was Jamie and he was the most frustrating, unprofessionl annaoting person I have ever met. He was practically begging the business managers to allow my snack machines in there premises. I was under the impression all the accounts were set up and the places of business were expecting them.
The lucrative accounts that were promised turned out to be very low volume potential. I'm lucky if my 10 accounts bring in enough to buy more snacks every week. A far cry from the $500-600/week that was indicated in the profit projections.
Now they don't return phone calls, and obviously don't care about my business. It was eluded that all my inventory is bought from them, making you believe they have an invested interest in your business growth. The more I make the more they make. But once it is set up thay tell they now have made it more convienient for the distributors and you can buy your inventory locally, send them your reciepts and they will reimberse the difference. Thus saving you waiting for delivery. Well, I am not expecting any reimbursment after my experiences with them so far.
As for the exlusive territory, I have knowledge of 2 others in Calgary doing the same business, and I am sure there are more.
This has been the most frustrating, and finacially devestating experience of my life. I invested in this business using a line of credit. There is no possible way that I will be able to pay it back from the business profits (because there are none), let alone make enough money to expand the business.
If you come across an add like this in the paper stay away. If there is any way I can nail these bastards and get my investment back I will find it. Any lawyers familiar with this company please contact me through canada-complaints.com.
Everything they advertised and promised is a major misrepresentation. These people need to be shut down as soon as possible.
