I googled for a Muppet Show DVD box set. First site that pops up is tvdvdplanet.com. It is a Google "sponsored link" so I didn't think twice about it. I order the DVD set and wait.
A few days after the order I e-mail and ask whats going on with shipping. I hear nothing back, but then I get an "order shipped" e-mail. I go to the tracking number and the Canadian Post website says nothing about the package. I keep checking it for a few days and nothing. I try to call the company and lo and behold the number is disconnected.
I call Canada Post and they tell me there is something in existence with that tracking number, but they don't have it yet. I e-mail tvdvdaddicts about the situation, no reply, but then when I check the tracking number the next day it says "package dropped off at post office." It took them 6 days from giving me the tracking number to actually bringing it to the post office to ship.
I finally get the package. It was a present, but I was so skeptical about it, I wanted to make sure everything worked before I gave it as a present. I open the "Brand New" box set and I see DVD-R's with poorly made labels on them. It was a 10 disk set and disk 8 had a disk 9 label on it crossed out with pen with an 8 hand written on the disk. I put the DVDs into my player. Its a newer player that luckily plays all different types of formats. However, there was no sound on any DVDs. Not only that, the episodes were all copied from VHS tapes. You could actually see the Disney Channel icon in the bottom left corner of the screen. I want nothing to do with it, so I sent it back via UPS the next day.
I e-mail them a bunch of times asking for a refund and telling them that I shipped the order back to the address they sent it from. No replies. I happen to check my bank account online and come to find out they charged me for a second set the day before! That's stealing from me! They kept my bank info on file and tried to steal $117 from me!
I filed disputes on both charges with my bank (Bank of America). I finally got an e-mail from the company after New Years stating that my orders were both refunded. However, to this day the money still isn't back in my account.
Also, UPS is still trying to deliver the package back to the company. I've spoken with them on multiple occasions. They need a phone number for international deliveries. The company's number doesn't work. The company is also required to pay customs on the package which they are refusing to do so. So the package is in limbo right now. UPS also told me there are many packages being returned to the company with no luck.
So now, I have a bank claim with the company and am waiting for resolution.
