My sister received a letter from Safeway Rewards in regards to a North American Sweepstakes Lottery. The letter says that she has won $ 125, 000 US dollars. She called and spoke with someone, who advised her to go ahead and deposit the check. She was very suspicious about this to begin with. We went to Google and pulled up the website and we found this website that I'm using to write this. We also Commerce Bank and they confirmed that the check was not valid AND the company name on the check did not match their records. This is an obvious attempt to scam people. I don't think that they expected someone to follow up on the company. I want to give everyone a heads up... You can contact Commerce Bank at 888 751-9000. Ask to be transferred to customer service and they can verify the validity of the check. Also, if you have the physical check, take a look at how Commerce Bank is spelled. They have it spelled C0MMERCE BANK! They have the number zero when it should be the letter "O." We plan to send this information over to the FBI!
