Please be informed that I, the undersigned, JAFAR AI along with my family (totally 4 persons) had ticket from the origin of Toronto (Canada) to the destination of Tehran through London, under Flight No. 098 and flight hour of 22:10 on March 23, 2011 (The copy of tickets are attached). When we went to Toronto Pearson International Airport at the due time in order to get on the plane, the person in charge of British Airways residing in Toronto Pearson International Airport hindered our travel and said that we need transit visa for travel to Iran through London. While, based on Air Navigation Rules, since our Canadian visa has not been expired and we are landed in Canada, transit visa was not needed (The relevant documents are hereto attached) and the act of official of your company at Pearson Airport is contrary to the laws. Our insistence was not effective and we had to travel to Ottawa in order to obtain transit visa from British Embassy. The officials of embassy also confirmed that we did not require transit visa. After our many referrals every day to the airport, the officials of British Airways were finally convinced that our travel is of no restriction without transit visa and another ticket was issued on March 26, 2011 under Flight No. BA 98 and flight hour of 22:15 (The copy of ticket is hereto attached) and we continued our travel.
Considering the mental, physical and financial problems incurred to us during these three days, you are kindly requested to investigate our case and compensate our financial loss as follows; otherwise, we will refer the case to international authorities.
1- Hotel cost for three days of accommodation totally for 900 dollars
2- Meal cost for three days totally for 420 dollars
3- Transportation cost for repeated referrals to Toronto Pearson International Airport for three days totally for 350 dollars
4- Travel cost to Ottawa in order to obtain transit visa from British Embassy totally for 350 dollars
5- Compensation for three days of leave of absence from our workplace (my wife and I) totally 6 working days: 600 dollars
