I was staying at Marriott in Ottawa. I called concerige @ 9am to order an airport shuttle pick up. She told me the 10:20am bus would take me to the airport for 11am. I showed up at the lobby @ 10:10am, the bus wasn't there @ 10:20am, didn't show up @ 10:30am either, so I asked the girl at the desk if the pick up was still coming. She called to check and told me the bus would be there in 5 minutes.
5 minutes later the bus pulled into the hotel, I walked out right away. I said Good morning to the driver, and I was shocked with his extremely rude behaviour, he said to me YOU CALLED LAST MINUTE! I explained I had called at 9am and the girl at the hotel had arranged it for me. He continuously accused me for calling in last minute that he had just gotten the call from dispatch 5 minutes ago. He was sooo rude, aggressive and abrupt, I asked him if there was a problem, because if there was I could just simply hop on a taxi instead. I said to him THAT WASN'T A VERY NICE APPROACH that it wasn't necessary to speak to me like that. He answered I AM TRYING TO BE NICE, OKAY? I was shocked... then I told him NO, YOU'RE NOT NICE AT ALL! I was soooo upset, I asked him what his name was, then I saw his name tag ERIC, he looked at me with hostility, and asked WHAT IS YOURS? It was UNBELIEVABLE! I was so afraid of him with his behaviour, I grabbed my luggage and told him I DIDN'T FEEL SAFE AND COMFORTABLE TRAVELLING WITH HIM. I was so upset, I was shaking.
Yes, the YOW AIRPORTER is only $14. But was it worth paying less in return for being treated badly by a driver who is rude, aggressive and hostile??? First of all, it wasn't my fault, I did not call for the pick up last minute; BUT even if a passenger did call last minute, it's not necessary for such a nasty approach. I was trying to save some money, but It was such an UN PLEASANT experience, I ended up taking a taxi to the airport. which cost me $30. I DID NOT FEEL SAFE AND COMFORTABLE travelling with a driver like that.
