Rip off - dishonest prize awards

I was contacted by mail that said that I had won $82, 000 in a drawing that took place in Las Vegas. I was sent a check for $2980.00. Was asked to contact Ms Christina Fackler at 403-383-4904 before cashing the check.
Ms Fackler said to let her know when the check has cleared, once it had cleared I was asked to send $2700.00 cash to an address in Canada. After which I would receive $79, 000 via Fed Ex the following day.

This is a scam.
