A year ago, I was promised by Telus that if I signed a 3 year contract for cable TV and internet, I would receive an HP laptop valued at $500.00. After signing on with them, I continued to wait for the laptop. Finally, after 4 months, I called and they said that they ran out of laptops and had to order more. So a few months later, still waiting. Called them again and they told me that it was on the way. Another 4 months passed and still nothing, so I decided not to pay my cable/internet bill. I was extremely high to begin with. For a while, it was over $200 a month! Enough was enough and was fed up with waiting for a computer that I was promised.
Just last week, I received a bill from Telus (after they cut off my service) for $1400. This included the price of the laptop, which I never got! And an early termination fee of my contract. They are the ones that didn't follow through with the contract by not giving me what was promised.
Now, Telus has a new promotion out now. Get an Xbox 360 with Kinect when you sign on with them. Good luck to anyone, especially with Christmas around the corner. They'll run out of them as well, after some sucker signs a contract.
Sadly, where I live, there is only 2 major cable TV/internet providers. Both are crooks. Telus and Shaw.
