Complaint / review / scam report
Ordered a boys bed in one city, and had it delivered to another city. Product was damaged so i returned it to a sears outlet store. Young lady working at the store did not know how to handle my situation because their was only one packing slip on product. The product was a young boys bed which was in two seperate boxes, but only had one packing slip. She called her manager in and tried to give me money for the head board only, I explained that there is also the wooden bed frame. They told me they can only refund for the packing slip that is on it, they said there should be ttwo seperate packing slips. I told them that I only seen 1 packing slip, and if you examine the boxes you can clearly see where one packing slip was torn of the headboard box. The other box had no marks from where a packing slip was removed, and so they looked for markes on the box where I might have removed the slip. Finally they agreed to refund my money, but could only refund the amount for the head board and not the full amount for the bed. They did not have enough cash in their float to refund the full amount. I agreed to acept the money for the headboard and deal with the balance owing in the city I ordered it from. I explained the whole story to the sears manager at first she didnt know how to handle the refund. She told me I needed the product at her store to refund the balance owing. I told her the boxes were quite large and thats why i had them delivered in the first place. I asked her would you expect me to bring back a snowblower too if that had been the product i had purchaced, so why would you assume i would bring back a product when I had it delivered for that reason. When all was said and done Sears says they will send me a check in the mail that could take up to six weeks. The bed was purchased for my grandson because hed had no bed and my daughter is in collage and cant afford to bye one for him. First of all my grandson now has no bed, secondly my money should have been refunded instead of me having to wait.I paid by debit so why couldnt they just refund it back to my account. It really isnt that hard to figure out Seras, you sold me a faulty product and because staff at to different locations didnt know their jobs you have inconvinienced myself, my daughter, my grandson, and also cost me gas money for a 6 hour trip and time. Its not just the money its how your people delt with it. Poor customer service to say the least, and your company can be proud to know that until I recieve that money my grandson must sleep on a matress on the floor. I draw a small pention so I cant afford to go out and buy a new bed, it breaks my heart to know this kind, sweet little boy ( 3yrs old ), has no bed. Shame on sears canada, this is a business i can see being bought out by someone else and liquidating everything to get rid of a dinasaur. Staff said they never ran into a situasion like mine before and themselves were apaulled by me having to wait for sears to first ok the refund, and then mail my money to me after waiting 6 weeks. Hey sears did you ever hear of e-banking, get your heads out of your asses and keep up with the rest of the world.
