Ace Courier Canada
Damaged goods in transit

I recently used Ace Courier to transport an item (carbon-fiber car hood) from Edmonton to Vancouver. It arrived badly damaged-- estimate of over $800 to repair. The box was ripped open on two sides, corners crushed and had evidence of water contamination. It was evident that this package had been severely man-handled and no care was taken to ensure no damage while in transport. The package only weighed 30 pounds, easily lifted properly by one person. Ace's excuse was that the hood was not packaged properly. The hood had bubble wrap and hard cardboard on all corners and was then covered in a cardboard wrap-- although it could of been stronger it was more than enough for a credible transport company to deliver safely, had it been stowed and handled properly. Even with better packaging I am certain damaged would of still occured due to the way it was treated. Ace offered $100-- their standard policy pay out. If they are only accountable for $100 of damage, what incentive is there for them to take care of your goods? &NONE!!! I highly recommend that if you have anything of value, not to choose Ace Courier as your transporter-- this company will not stand behind their service and you are taking a gamble that they won't destroy your goods. There are far better choices than Ace.
