Purchased a central vacuum system late August 2011. stopped working correctly just after the warranty period of 30 days. called the 1-800 number for service mid December 2011. service contractor came out end of December 2011 who didn't know what he was doing and left a message with my 15 year old rather than me (I was home). my husband and i called and e-mailed over and over again to find out what was going on. never got the same answer or a straight answer. lied to over and over again, most calls not returned. a different service contractor showed up February 28th/12 with the wrong parts which must have come on a slow boat from Regina since Jan 7th/12. as per previous advice from Sears. wrong parts!!! service tech stated there was dog hair inside the filter which should have been unreachable and asked us whether the box the central vac came in had been opened prior to us getting it. a re-sell? the powerhead never worked either. my husband made it very plain to Sears in January 2012 to bring the correct parts for the powerhead and for the motor. yet still, the wrong parts came. now the "correct" parts are re-ordered and we are still waiting. we've been told that the parts are being expedited shipped from Regina again. OMG. Took Jan 7th-Feb28th the last time... are we talking 4 months for a repair? SEARS REFUSED TO TAKE THE CENTRAL VACUUM BACK. we paid almost $1, 000.00 for this piece of junk. Yike! help us please!
