On September 26, 2011, my wife received a letter from Tacit Collections demanding payment for a parking ticket, allegedly received at 68 Orchard View Blvd, in Toronto, in the Yonge and Eglinton area, for $74.15. The date of the offence was July 6, 2011, at 5:18 pm.
The problem with this claim is that not only was she not in Toronto on that date (we live in Cambridge), the license plate listed on the offence were for a van we sold to a wrecker at least 6 months previous. As I read the letter, I went into the garage, reached onto the shelf, and grabbed the very plates they claim were in Toronto, which have been on that shelf since I took them off the van.
My wife called Tacit Collections, and after telling them the situation, they claim to have removed the notice from their system. After researching ImPark and Tacit, it appears they are one and the same, and what they say they will do is not always what they actually do.
I am hopeful we will not have to endure harassment from ImPark, however, we will be contacting the Ministry of Transportation, and if they recommend, the police as well.
