Sent check to me, asking for a personal check in return, trying to drain my account Ripoff

This company sent me a letter stating that I won $48, 500.00 from a North American Utilities drawing that we had supposedly entered online. You got a check in the envelope for $2985.00.

I called the company and reached a woman who barely spoke English. She told me to deposit the check today and call her within 24 hours and that I was supposed to send them a check for half of the amount that I just received to cover some fees.

She said that once she got our check we would receive the whole amount of the money that we won. The woman didn't know what was going on when I was speaking to her, so I checked out this website and found that it is a scam.
