Foreign scam artists not very smart

Last week I received a letter in a plain white envelope and Canadian stamp. In this was a check for 2, 985.00 from Hi-Fi Farm Inc with a Wirtz Virgina business address. Phone 800-752-4018. How convenient, a bank and company with the same HiFi. The letter was for a winning ticket number 5644581 in the amount of $48, 500.00.
How dump do they think people are?

I do not participate or am registered to North American Utilites, so how can I be entered into a drawing?
I called this number to see what I would be told.
I got an Indian girl on the phone that didn't understand much English, was put on hold for a moment and then she came back on claiming to be someone else.
Any drawing would not send you a check to cover there surcharge. And the best to "keep it confidential."
