I received a lettter from HIFI Financial with enclosed check for $2980. to cover charges/fees on the sum of $48, 000. that would be payed out among the winners. This was on the 14th of July I called the number on the letter and Susan said I needed to deposit check into my account. I told her I dont have an accont and she asked if I could get one and I said that I would try and so she said after I did this to call her back.
I couldnt open an account so after a day to contemplate it I asked my Ex-husband if I could sign over to him and he agreed after looking at the check and saying it looks like a real check and he didnt want some bad check.
This ends badly as it was a bad check and was returned to his bank. I talked to him and the bank today and they were unable to locate account at the bank it was drawn on. So now I owe his bank $2980.
