CostumeHut.com appears to be a company that is satisfied with having just one transaction with their customer; ripping them off; moving on to the next.
I placed an order with them on Jun 15, 2005 and got an online receipt for USD$ 29.98. On June 17 I got an email receipt for $44.14. I immediately replied saying:
"I believe there has been a mistake in this order. The receipt I got when I placed the order showed the charge to be $29.98, not $44.14.
I do NOT authorize you to make a charge on my Visa account until we have an agreement on the purchase price, which is, as I said, $29.98."
On the 20th I sent an email noting that my account had been debited inspite of my request to cancel.
They sent back an email on the 21st saying:
"Thank you for letting us know, your order has been cancelled and your account will be credited. it will show up on your credit card statement in 2 to 5 days."
That is the last response I ever received from them. I sent emails asking why my account hadn't been credited and then a follow up.
They are scum.
