This is to help others avoid being ripped off by a bad boy furniture scam. We recently purchased a living room set from bad boy. It was listed for $1650.00 I offered to give them $1600.00 cash all taxes in, we finally settled on $1620.00.
The price was fair and we were ready to finalize the deal when the salesman started a high pressure sell of the scotchguarding. The price for this 250.00 pretty much the amount I had negotiated off the price of the furniture. After several negative responses from me on this issue he then brought in the more experienced sales person to try and close, he was relentless.
This is when my patience expired I finally became rude and stated "which part of no don't you understand" at which point they gave up. When I picked this furniture up from their wharehouse it was wrapped in a heavy plastic that was from the factory and low and behold it was treated with 3M scotchguard at the factory. As you can see this was nothing but a ploy to extract more money from me. Don't be intimidated stand your ground and say NO to this blatant scam. Oh and by the way for $7.99 you can purchase scotchguard and apply it yourself.
