Cuisinart classic cordelss percolator

In the month of April, 2010 I purchased a Classic Cordless Percolator, and on Christmas Day at breakfast it stopped working. Knowing it was the holiday season I tried to get the name of a place to have my warranty respected. I soon found out that it was not that simple. I was told my voice mail that it would be opened for "walk inns and phone service" on the 29th and 30th., however, they did not answer their 1 800 number, so I waited until today, January the 3, 2011. Well I am now told (again by voice mail) that I must mail the appliance to Ontario and enclose a cheque to cover shipping and handling. Not only that, but I am unable to find out if the whole machine must be shipped or maybe just the electrical disc. And of course no real live person is available to answer my questions. I sit here with a $112.oo coffee maker unable to find out where my 3 year warranty will be honored, and it not cost ME money, ... can someone PLEASE help me solve this problem . p.s. I still have the original invoice of payment if that is needed...
