In todays financial situations how can nybody prey on innocent people

I was sent a letter stating that I had won a lottery on Oct 9th 2008. I was in disbielf but I was hoping for the best. I guess if something sounds to good to be true, it is. I hope someone reads this before they to get their hopes up for something that will never happen.
