In March 2008, I was contacted by Global Auto Registries that they had a purchaser for our recently listed SUV. They are supposed to be a financing company who finds the vehicle and then finance it for you. I was told that for $300 they would set me up with the buyer, who would pay the asking price of my vehicle. I of course was wanting to get my vehicle sold and after looking at several sites which sang the praises of this company and the guarantee that I would get my money back if my vehicle had not sold in 3 months, I agreed.
I was never contacted by them again, I would call every 2 weeks while they had the listing to see what was happening, the answer was alway that they had several interest people and were surprised that none of them had contacted me.
At the end of my 3 month listing I filled out their refund claim form which must be signed by a Notary Public (which cost $50) and sent it in. Several weeks later I called and was told that they hadn't been able to confirm my address so I gave them my addresss (which hadn't changed) and she said I should expect my cheque within a week. After 3 weeks I called again and have called every weeks since to find out where my cheque is. I have had several people who were going to look into the situation and get back to me no one ever does! Today I was told that they never recieved my refund claim and that since it is more then 3 months since my refund claim was due my file has been closed, so there is nothing I can do.
This is a total scam, I think they have gone into site and had employees write positive comments because I seen several claim of vehicles being sold or refunds being paid. I kept on them thinking if I was diligent that I would get my money back, but now all I can do is get the word out so other aren't taken in!
An added note: I have been contacted by them several times in the last 3 weeks wondering if I would like to list my vehicle with them (the same SUV) they had listed in the spring. They target people with ads in Auto trader! So if you trying to sell a vehicle WATCH OUT!
