We have had our AC1100 Angelcare Baby Monitor for over a year now, and unfortunately the connection to the Nursery unit had somehow gotten damaged and it doesn't work any more. I phoned Angelcare SA and they just said that I would then have to replace the unit at a whopping R900 since they cant do anything else. Now, I understand that things do break and we have been travelling once at least every 2 months... BUT this is a baby monitor- it HAS to go everywhere you go! Kids get hold of it, it falls, it is with you sometimes where its raining etc. It's not an ornament- it has to be hardy! Besides the fact that it breaks easily, it has poor reception (eg if the microwave goes on, it doesn't catch the signal between a concrete floor ie when your baby is upstairs and you are downstairs AND its very difficult to position the nursery unit so that the camera is actually ON the baby. At the end of the day we couldn't see our kiddie most of the time. The 'on' light is also very bright at night. I would NOT recommend getting this baby monitor. Didn't really seem like the lady cared that they have poor product- she was just 'sorry, that's our policy'
