Failure to disclose additional cost about product
We recently purchased an expensive Electrolux 30" Free Standing Range Hood (model # RH30WC40GS) for which we paid over $900. As we unpacked the box, we noticed that the Charcoal Filters (part # EICF400GS) are not included and neither are the halogen lights. We called Electrolux Customer Service directly to enquire about charcoal filter and where to get them. They told us to call their Parts Department. So we called the Electrolux Parts Department who informed us that the Charcoal Filters # EICF400GS were discontinued and told us to call Customer Service again, which we did. We spent over 2 hours back and forth trying to get answers. We were finally told by a Customer Service Representative that the part number (which is on your Website) had changed to RHCF400GS and we were told us to call your Parts Department again with the new Part number, So we called your Parts Department again and after being cut off a few times, we called again. Finally, we were told that the filters are $247 plus $10 shipping. You have to be kidding me...! We have never been so frustrated and now being told about the cost of the filters is simply disgusting. This excessive cost should be disclosed up-front at the point-of-sale. Obviously, buying an Electrolux product was a BIG mistake and I will definitely go out of my way to recommend to all my family members, friends, neighbours and acquaintances to stay away from Electrolux products. Not only is Electrolux very disorganized and really does not a good grip on their products and parts, Electrolux charges an exorbitant price for parts that a customer needs after the product has been purchased. Not a very good way to do business and to improve your customer satisfaction. Never again…!
