Universal Rewards & Trust Sent a bad check for $4, 875 saying I had won $125, 000 in a drawing. Wanted me to send $2, 875 to phony "Tax Agent"

Same story as all the rest. Altho it looked authentic enough (drawn on Fifth Third Bank - US), the check for $4, 875 bounced. My bank accepted it for deposit, but of course it never cleared.

Do not respond to these people. I did make the call after receiving the check and was given the address of the tax agent to whom I was to send the $2, 875 tax payment. The payment was to go to a Terry Hines, 1505 Hillside Dr, Ottawam Ontario, Canada, K1R 5B5. Fortunately, their check bounced in time to keep me from sending any money -- yes, I fell for the scam, up to a point.
