Got a letter today in the mail saying we had won $45, 000 and had a reference number on it. They sent a check for $26995.63 to "help pay for the tax and administrative expenses (International Clearance fees) involved in our winnings. After which the balance of $42, 304.37 will be released within 2 to 3 business days from the date of final processing and verification confirmed. The letter also states that I should call our agent Andrew Philips of Astral Media at 778-862-7219.
the letter also states to keep this winning as confidential as possible to avoid false claims adn double winners until we claim our prize money. We got this letter today 01/19/08 and the deadline is January 22nd. This is clearly a ripoff to me and I never intended to deposit this bogus check and I want to stop others from being tempted.
