Tvboxset.com Garcia Media Group Srx Ca Others
Tvboxset.com - Garcia Media Group - Srx Ca DVDs are pirated and mostly low quality Ontario Or Quebec

Like many others complaining here, I've feel ripped of by TVBoxset.com aka Garcia Media Group aka SRX.ca.

As others stated, it took about 2 months to get the product, although credit card was carged same day as order placed.

No way of contacting company, as E-mails are ignored and no phone number or address given on website. Only after inital complaiont her and to my credit card company, did I see any action and THEN it still took a month to get the product!

I ordered boxsets of 8 TV shows and my reveiws below are based on only looking at one or two CDs from each series.

JAG - copied off the USA network from TV cable broadcast. Quality pretty clear picture and look OK for the most part.

Carrol Burnett - Copied of Canadian TV Land channel. Sort of grainy, but might be due to original show taped in late 60's. Probably NOT. Also, episodes are the half hour cut down version of the original one hour programs - disappointing.

Twilight Zone - copied from a storebought box set. Quality good.

3rd Watch - Taped off TV. Terrible quality. very dark, grainy jumpy. Almost looks like a webcam image, in that it seems to pause momentarily a lot. Reference to deaks100.webhop.net, which seems to be a United Kingdom based website selling pirated TV shows. Probably where TV boxset got these discs from. Maybe also why it take s2 month to get an order from TVboxset - they order em from elsewhere after you order from them!

Nash Bridges - taped off USA Network pretty good quality.

Banacek - pretty good quality - clear. Taped off KDOC TV Losd Angeles. one note - all episodes I checked have a 25 second leadin, where the screen is blank and silent. Almost makes you think the DVD is a dud!

Ally McBeal - Copied from a store bought box set. Somewhat grainy. Got 2 disc # 2s and no disc # 1!

SOAP - copied from a storebought box set. Grainy and jumpy - poor quality.

Note about all of the above sets. The ones copied from storbought box sets have stripped down menus and no extra or special features on them. The others have poor quality "home made" menus. None of them offer scene selection, although pressing the "next scene" button on the DVD remote control does jump from to where the next commercial would have been on the original broacast of the show, so you can sort of go scene to scene on some of them.

EVERY DVD was CLEARY "cheaply homemade" like blanks with a little color laser printed logo to let you know what they were. Cleary pirated, as no mention of copyright, license or network on either discs or boxes. One box had liner notes taken from a website and were incomplete. That is, the notes just stopped mid sentence like point made

To sum it up - in my opinion, if you REALLY want a collection of a favorite old TV show and don't mind waiting a couple months and don't mind paying for some clowns to sell you pirated product that YOU could tape of cable or satelite yourself, well... nuff said!

Keep in mind too that based on what I got, it 50 - 50 if the shows will be clear or grainy and jumpy.

Overall, shame on TVBOXSET or whatever else they call themselves. STRONGLY recommend you find ANOTHER way to either get you TV shows or waste your money.

If anyone has successfully gotten a refund from these companies, please let me know by posting a reply to this.
