Garcia Media Group, Tvboxset In Montreal - Jeff Johnson, Jeff Tabares
Garcia Media Group, "tvboxset.com" In Montreal - Jeff Johnson, Jeff Tabares Yet another victim of these thieves, took my money and sent me bootleg dvds

My experience is not unique, it's the same old -take the money, send garbage-. These guys were quick to charge my credit card... in American dollars no less, and then after waiting almost two months the discs finally arrived. Like the others, these videos were recorded from the TV... complete with the TV Land watermark in the bottom corner. The promised episode list was not included, big surprise, and the discs were low quality and several wouldn't play at all.

I suppose I should have been smarter and clue in when the description of the product claimed that there were 278 episodes on 8 discs. That many episodes when calculated out would require an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM of 24 discs. This is based on wedging six hours of material per disc. Usually discs have two hours of content which would require 70 discs for that many episodes of 30 minutes each. You get the idea, it was a big time ripoff.

Like everyone else, all emails were completely ignored and phone calls never got past the answering machine. As of this writing, Aug 24, the phone line has been DISCONNECTED. Their website is very careful to omit their phone number and address... which is what all above-board, credible, honest companies do. (as if)

Ok, so we all know that we have been ripped off or we wouldn't be here. This Jeff Johnson, the owner (according to another post) of the business, and the mysterious "Jeff" Tabares who responded to several of you with identical email but doesn't leave his last name, both seem to be the root of it all. Another victim listed a whole group of additional business names and addresses that they are behind, complete with nearly a dozen alternative website iterations so that the different businesses (I use the term loosely) are able to similarly scam people without being associated with one another. This makes it conveniently easy for him to claim that there is no relationship between him (tvboxset.com) and any of the other businesses who are also under the microscope for exactly the same thing. For example, "tvboxset.com" is also "themediadepot.tv", "tvmedialimited.tv" etc.

Interestingly, there was an article done on EXACTLY this situation which just appeared in the Montreal Gazette. Here's the link.. https://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news/story.html? id=77befa56-e0dd-484d-ac24-7707a80bcdaf&k=98025

Basically, if we want any joy out of all this, we need to make as much noise as possible. These guys should not be allowed to get away with making thousands and thousands of dollars using fraudulent transactions and screwing people over. We have the internet and we need to warn as many people as we can. Beside contacting the Montreal Better Business Bureau, the Montreal Gazette, Surete du Quebec (police) and complaint, we need to put something up on YouTube. That service is becoming the wave of the future and has a TREMENDOUS audience. Make sure to use the titles of Garcia Media Group, and tvboxset.com among the others. It doesn't have to be fancy, just get the word out so that there will be no more people that can be ripped off.

Hopefully we can take the disconnected phone number as a positive sign, maybe these idiots are not able to pay their phone bill because they have handcuffs on.

Good Luck!!
