Prima Electronics
Bad service no response junk product died television Ripoff

I purchased a 20" prima television at Future Shop on December 30, 2004 (just over a year ago). I was impressed with the features & picture for such an entry level priced television.

I use it approximately 6 hours a week in front of my treadmill, so it has seen very little use.

I turned it on one day about 2 weeks ago and the picture was all "wavy". I tried the front and rear inputs as well, and they are no longer working. Something internal is broken. There are no tuning adjustments, and I have confirmed my cable connection is good by testing with another television.

Being in Retail Management myself, and experienced in running a service department, I know exceptions can and often are made in situations where an item dies shortly after the warranty expiration date.

I have made several phone calls, left 2 messages with the warranty manager/supervisor, and sent 2 emails. After 2 weeks, I have recieved NO RESPONSE at all. Even a quick call or note would be better than no response.

I am completely dissatisfied with both the product and their service. Why bother posting their 1-800 number if they do not intend to call customers back?

I urge anyone to not purchase Prima Electronics, especially televisions. They are complete junk, and their service is terrible

I believe Radio Shack's Advent line and the brand Jensen are also Prima products, so I would avoid those too.
