Saskatchewan Workers Compensation is a employer funded insurance company that is supposed to help injured workers who have suffered a work injury. The truth is that they are a insurance company that cares only about profits.
They will and do send you back to work still injured without proper medical diagnose, with no regard to safety.
SK WCB case management workers are making medical decisions to overrule Physicians reports. (they use medical advisors who have not examined you and are not provided with all information so injury cannot be fully diagnosed)
They portay injured workers as malingering fakers and use
deceptive practices to deny benefits.
They have exclusive jurisdiction to determine whatever they want. If a Physician makes recommendations, they don't like,
TO BAD. You don't get help you need.
They always state if you don't agree with their decision you can appeal. Then they delay your appeal with smoke and mirrors tactic's by saying that your file is under review, so appeal can be delayed for as long as they want.
How can you appeal a decision when it's supposedly under review?
They further avoid injury claims by using any means available, especially by stating that you had a pre-existing condition even though it states that if your injury aggravates a pre-existing condition you are covered. This is not happening?
They will go to any lengths to minimze your injury and to avoid medical treatment. Then state your injury has healed and end your benefits and send you back to work with no regard to safety.
They send you for injury assessments to their Physicians, chiropractors, physiotherapists and psychologist's who are payed huge sums of money, and then fail to order tests to properly diagnose your injury's. Or state that you are just suffering from depression.
I personally have been to two injury assessments by the same Physician, supplied by WCB to assess my injury, and begged and pleaded for a MRI to identify my injury, but was sent back to work, injured and in severe pain, on naracotic medications, muscle relaxant's, only to suffer a new injury and to be assessed by this same useless Physican and again denied MRI which would have shown injury.
SASKATCHEWAN WORKERS COMPENSATION BOARD NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR ACTIONS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.
If you are seriously injured at work I advise you to get a lawyer if you can afford one. Or can find one. (Most lawyers will not take a case against SK WCB as they already have experience with this unjust insurance company and know that even if they win at trial, the judge will send it back to WCB for review.) Sometimes not even ordering court costs if victorious. Which makes it hard for them to get their wages for services rendered.
If you are a injured worker where can you find the money to hire a lawyer in the first place and SK WCB knows this.
So they do whatever they feel like doing with no regard to humane decency.
Injured workers are subject to hostility, inaction, by case managers at WCB if they try to protect their rights as injured worker. This is a travesty of justice. This must stop.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I sincerely hope that you don't suffer a severe injury like I have in Saskatchewan as WCB is only for minor injuries, broken arms, legs so forth. Long-term injuries like mine that are not obvious to the naked eye are treated by WCB as invisible.
