Wal-Mart
Care of Employees

Hello. My fiance and I are employees at the Wal-Mart at this location. She unfortunately injured herself on the job and requested to seek medical attention at the local hospital. However, since we work the night shift, the on-duty overnight support manager was unable to obtain the forms which they request be filled out at the hospital and therefore refused to let neither my injured fiance, nor I to leave to get her to medical treatment. Instead, he insisted that she return to her normal duties and "treat the injury as if it happened at home". Well, sorry, but if it "happened at home", we would most certainly NOT have waited 6.5 hours to seek medical attention! In addition, no first aid was offered nor rendered by the overnight support manager! We had to wait approximately 6.5 hours before even being allowed to seek medical assistance! This completely disregards the policy that Wal-mart claims to have regarding employee health and safety. This is clearly unacceptable and not only should be addressed immediately, but compensation should be awarded to the injured member for undue hardship, unnecessary pain, improper procedures being followed, lack of even basic medical treatment administered, as well as the utter neglect for employee health and safety. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this complaint, please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected]. Thank you for your time.
