Home Depot Shaunessy Branch In Calgary Alberta
I chose Home Depot to purchase and have install a new kitchen. I heard and saw advertisements on T.V. that stated they did a good job and guaranteed their work. However guarantee only if you are after them to do it - was not completed after two years

Home Depot were chosen because of their advertising that they guarantee their job, but it is not true. The installer came out and broke certain cupboards and tried to initially paste and screw the cupboard together. I objected. He had broken a cupboard that the countertop was to sit on and he said that was okay and although I objected, it did little good, he did not replace the corner cupboard top that he broke. He said it did not matter because no one would see it because of the counter top WOULD HIDE IT, but I was concerned for how it would endure with counter top on it as time went on.

He screwed the side of a another cupboard with a laminate to hide the orignal wood that he had damaged. I objected and after some discussion and objections over and over and phone calls to the store, he replaced the DAMAGED cupboard.. While this installer took out the old cupboards, that were already sold, he broke them, he damaged the floor as well. a NEWLY INSTALLED CUPBOARD'S shelf was not properly installed and had slipped to the floor of the cupboard. This was not repaired for approximately 10 months. The cupboard doors had little splits, knicks, and wows in them. I objected. I wanted new doors. I was told that they would not be replaced or fixed. That is just the way they came.

I noted that on the display IN THE STORE the doors certainly did not look like that. Two of the doors were warped and was not valid as they arrived that way. Millpride Manager was in town when I was requesting new doors. I was told after he came out that they were perfectly alright. I was later told that the dings, splits and scratches, where you could see the doors were cut with and embossed with a DULL saw that had ripped them and not cut them properly. I was told by the Installer the message was " what could I expect from this product " it was the cheapest that they had and Millpride did not make a good product. I had paid over $8000.00 - for the purchase of the cupboards excluding the install and countertop and install. It was a continuous battle to get the doors replaced.

On the pantry they did not match and on the 2nd pantry there were warped. Finally it was decided that Home Depot - about 16 months into this exercise decided that they would change the doors. They would make an appointment with me. I take time from my business. They would bring in the doors (they said they were not allowed to unwrap at the shop) discover that they were worse then the ones they had up and would leave. They did this again about 15 times, while in between there would be a lapse as they needed to order them. The light rail was put up in an unprofessional manner, the edges were rough and did not line up. I had to fight to get them replaced three times and the fourth time is the closest to what they should look like.

My kitchen tap was purchase two weeks before the men came initially and the crew of non professional inept sillies lost the screws when they took it off of the sink and unknown to me they put in other screws that did not work and my tap was on a slant for many months - while I phoned continuously to ask for them to come and fix the tap. It just did not happen. I had to start to use a wash basin and wash my dishes upstairs in the bathroom.

This is past a year since the time they first installed by now. The edging on the countertop was not done properly by the installer. He took it off and repaired it and brought it back next day and put it back on. There was no improvement to my tap - but now my dishwasher was locked - could not open the door - and when I pulled it forcefully the whole dishwasher fell forward. The installer neglected to put in the screws. But now the new fridge at the bottom I noticed was damaged. I did not know when it had occured. But for sure one of these unprofessional home depot men had done it.

Now the light rail was off and there was nails sticking out - so that if you put your hand in the cupboards you were in danger of getting scratched. Although these things were reported to HOMe Depot, nothing was done - for quite awhile until it was nearly 2 years. About this time a shelf on the corner unit collapsed and my dishes were fotunately not damaged. Then a manager from Customer Service (I was phoning the manager constantly) came out and assessed the situation. My tap had been on a slant and unoperational for many months,

I guess I forgot to mention that the original installer fed up from all my calls to Home Depot came out with a supervisor who wanted to see what all the complaints were about. She agreeded the tap was not useable in this condition and the installer decided that he would glue it to the countertop. I announced I did not think this would work, but the supervisor was quite supportive of the installer and so they glued the tap. One week later it was again on it side. Now the gentleman (Manager from Customer Service) was on the job and the first thing he did was hire Pete the Plumber who came out and installed a new tap. It was great! He actually used screws and it is still working with no problems. Pete mentioned the problem with the tap was there were no screws installed. We know there were screws when the crews of sillies arrived so they were lost by Home Depot and their wonderful crews they brag about.

Then the work started to get done. It was one month short of 2 years and some doors were fixed, but the scratches, wows, knicks, and splits in the doors and also the warped door was not fixed - but other little things were done. After all - what could I expect. I expected them to do as they had advertise and guarantee the product they advertise and not tell me that Millpride makes the cheapest and worst cupboard on the market.

Then I was told I would be reimbursed for the damage to my floor, to my fridge and the costs of the fillers I was charged for but had not been used. The Customer service Manager phoned me and promised to reimburse me for damages for $1, 000. and said to stay on the line and they would get my credit card number and give me a reimbursement, but that did not happen. I waited a half hour and phoned later and was told to wait. I waited 45 minutes. I phoned again and was told they knew nothing about it. I phoned the Customer Service Manager again. He was on mat leave. I phoned the manager. No reply to my calls. I called the manager some 12 times. No reply. I finally got a call from one man who said that there was a cheque to be mailed to me from Home Depot. That was three months ago. Still no cheque. I phoned the manager, I phoned The Customer Service Manager, still no reply no cheque and all I have received is aggravation.
