I bought a snow blower from Sears Canada (Calgary) over a year ago. It is still in warranty (2 years) Part of the snow chute (plastic) cracked and broke in half. I went to the service center to try to get the part. The person behind the desk told me they cannot sign out parts, they need the whole machine. I said "fair enough". Went home, hooked the trailer and brought the whole machine to the store. The woman behind the desk (with an attitude! ) said that part is not covered by warranty because it is not something that usually breaks!!! I showed her the warranty and said it doesn't mention anything that supports her claim. She said, O.K. we will get our technician to have a look and see if it is covered or not. and that I will have to pay $49.95 for this, which will be refunded if the repair is covered. I told her what if it is not covered and I decided to do the work myself later. She said, I will still have to pay the $49.95 which is their technician fee. I told her Sears pays the technician, I should not pay him. Anyhow, I decided to buy the part and change it myself. Sears warranty is a SCAM, SCAM as you may know by now. and if you don't, then you have been warned. Neither I, nor anyone of my family will EVER buy anything from SEARS, period!!
