On 8/31/2011 I answered an ad in kijiji for a good used marine transmission
9/1/2011 I was contacted by Steve at lockhart machine and was told that the transmission was in good shape, after agreeing on a price I paid for the the item by Pay-Pal (1060.00 plus tax)
9/15/2011 we received the transmission only to find that it was totally worn out.the gears were worn and pitted, the bearings were worn beyond the alowable limits
9/15/2011 notified the owner at lockhart machine, this was the first time that he mentioned that the all sales on Kijiji are "as is" but he had another set of gears that I could have for 400.00 Plus tax, He assured me that the driven gear was not pitted and the other gear had only minor/small amount of pitting that was normal. I agreed to purchase thesecond gear box and when I recieved it we found it to be in worse condition that the first one.
on 9/26/2011 I notified Steve about the condition, he wrote " If you still want to replace these gears Id like to help you get the best deal to help out. You could then pay me to purchase and ship them to you. /Steve This was the last time I heard from Lockhart Machine
