I jumped for joy today when I opened my mail and dicovered a cashier's check in the amount of $2, 800 made out to me. Upon reading the letter enclosed, the monies were to be deposited into my account, and immediately sent to the insurance processing officer to cover the processing fee for my real winnings of $275, 000.00.
While still on cloud nine a little voice said to me look up the company on canada-complaints.com to see if the company, the check, and the monies were ligitimate. To my surprize was a report on this company written one week earlier with the same story about the same letter, same amount of winnings, and the same procedures to follow to have the $275, 000.00 released. The writer wrote he contacted the bank the check was drawn from only to find out to was a fraud. I can't begin to tell you how upset and angry I became after reading that story.
Truly there has to be something we consumers can do to fight these illigitimate practices. I'm ready to fight back by any means necessary. As a senior citizen on a fixed income I could have lost my life savings... I wonder how many others have already?
