Excessive rip off pricing for walking up to counter with no reservation

On March 26th 2011 at YVR Air Canada I was charged 400 dollars for a 13.5 min flight to Nanaimo BC. The lady told me it would cost 99 dollars but because I had no reservation it would be 400. I was not allowed to fly standby and there were empty seats on that flight. Because of a computer crash that happened to Alaska Air I missed my seaplane flight that was about 65 dollars. I flew all the way to Pittsburg Pa. on Air Canada for 650 dollars so try and justify 400 for such a short hop to Nanaimo from YVR.
