Brian Wieland - Multifit Took my money, didn't deliver until the police dropped by, bounced refund check, substandard damaged goods delivered, further requests for refund ignored

I found this character on the web through a Google search. I sent through a personal check for $172 CDN for a set of training wheels and postage costs. I heard nothing for weeks. email requests for information were ignored.
He then started saying he had mailed them, but would not produce any shipping data. After a few months of constant emailing, he sent me a shipping document which was not stamped by Canada Post, ie. nothing was sent (Canada Post had no record of the tracking number). After not receiving anything for many more weeks, I contacted the Peel police to report this company as fraudulent.

The police went around to his property and ordered him to write a refund check to me, which I received in week or so. I cashed it, but was amazed to get a letter from the bank 3 weeks later which informed me that there were insufficient funds, and I was lumped with substantial bank charges for the unhonored check. Not happy at this stage, as I now paid over $250 and received nothing.

A few more rather colorful emails followed after which he eventually sent me a tracking slip which showed he had posted something. Well 6 weeks later something did arrive: an old rusted, used wheel missing the ball bearings from the hub and not connected to the hub, and one shaky new wheel. Basically unusable. I complained bitterly again and he sent another wheel which arrived 3 weeks later.

I finally attached them to the bike, my wife got on, the wheels bent at the joint and she almost fell off. A few heated conversations with my wife ensued. Quite substandard garbage I have been sent.

I emailed him back with photos showed the substandard quality. I demanded a refund, and if he wanted the wheels back, then to send postage costs as well. This he refused, saying I must send them back first. What a joke! After almost a year of lies, costs and frustration, I must spend MORE money with NO guarantee of a real refund that won't bounce?

This guy is BAD business! Do not buy anything from him, your money will go into a black hole.
