I signed up for this gym because it was close to my work and was offering a good deal. They promised that the flow of people in the gym was light (too many people at once was the reason I left my last gym).
One of the conditions I (and my wife) joined was if they started my membership on a later date as I was out of town. They promised me that my account would be activated the day that I first started. My wife and I were issued temporary cards and and went in for a complimentary physical assessment (part of the sign up package/just interactive sales pitch for personal training). The next month I noticed a charge of $107 on my credit card. I went in to inquire what it was and I was told that it was accidentally charged for one of the assessments and that they would refund it.
The next month another $107 was charged and again I went in and asked if they had accidentally charged me again instead of refunded. They promised to correct it. I told them that I was cancelling that card and that the refund must go in by the end of the month or else the account would be closed. They didn't.
Over the last 4 months, I have put in many phone calls to them as well as shown up and been told that Dave Ryzinski is not in even though I could see him through his glass office windows. To date I have had no returned phone calls and one meeting with Dave where he asked me to provide him with the card statements, which I did and have not even received confrimation that they are processing them.
As for the gym, I am not going any more because I have shown up a handful of times and received rude service over this billing. The gym is filthy. There are empty water bottle left on machines and dirty towels left around, they never have towels ready even with very few people in the gym. I went at 6:00 AM (opening time) and found weights (14 dumbbells!)all over the floor, that hadn't been picked up from the night before. They only opperate with temporary cards, even after numerous years of opperation.
This gym is a SCAM!! and should not be joined.
