I contracted with this company for a specific houseboat rental. This houseboat was beautiful in the brochure, hot-tube, big rooms, sleeps 16, everything. When we got to Antlers Resort the houseboat we contracted for wasn't there. The companies' cold unsympathetic management directed my party to two other really pieces of junk houseboats to choose from. Now this company is all hugs and kisses until you give them the last payment, then hold on to your hats, you're going for a ride. Now we drove 3-hours to get to this place with 5-other families, three of which had husbands that just got back from deployments from Iraq. We couldn't get our full money back, so we decided to take the better of the two boats, so we thought. Once we settled in, we realized the barbeque didn't work and the Hot-tube didn't work and numerous other items didn't work. Since we brought other watercraft to keep us busy I figured the Antlers Resort Management would do the right thing and compensate us when we got back. Boy was I wrong... Not only did they not compensate us, but basically they insinuated that I was trying to extort money from them and for me and my party to take a hike. After twelve attempts to contact Antlers Resorts to get some sort of resolution, I filled a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of California and they strongly recommended that I take civil action against Antlers Resorts. There are several very fine and respectable companies at Lake Shasta to rent houseboats from, this is not one of them. I could really kick myself for dealing with these people, because I usually deal with their competitor in the past, but I foolishly gave them a chance. Shame on me That will never happen again. I hope this helps anyone in their decision making process when choosing houseboat rentals on Lake Shasta or LakeHead.
