On August 4th (over 2 months ago), we purchased 4 outdoor lights from Total Lighting and Decor in Burlington on Fairview Street.
Total cost was $600.00. We made a deposit of $370 and were told it would be 2 weeks before they came in. After the 2 weeks, the lights had not arrived and we were told they would be in next week. We got the same story now every week thereafter for the past 2 months.
The staff at the Total Lighting store never seemed to show any care or concern regarding our order.
We were able now to source the exact same lights on the internet from another supplier in the USA and received them within a week.
After over 2 months of waiting for our order through Total Lighting and Decor, we asked for a our money back but they now refused saying the order would be here next week. Obviously we had heard that far too many times and since we were able to get them through a more reliable supplier, we did not want to deal with this company any longer.
But they only offered a in store credit. That is store policy on returns. Understandable if we were to return what we had bought.
But since we did not receive the lights, we could not return them. We waited long enough and have no idea when if ever they were going to come in. There is nothing else we need in the store worth $600. We ordered what we wanted and were promised a 2 week delivery date.
But to date nothing.
Something strange is going on at this location. My wife and i question if the lights were ever even ordered from their supplier in the USA.
When ever we called, we received no answers and very poor service.
We have reported the company to the Better Business Bureau of Burlington, Ontario.
We are out of pocket $600.00 and have no product.
Advise anyone looking for lighting or related items to AVOID Total Lighting and Decor in Burlington.
Do not place orders with your money as deposit as you may never see your product or get your money back.
