In March of 2008 I inadvertently paid $92.25 on line to Convergia instead of another creditor. When I contacted them by telephone immediately upon discovering the mistake, I was informed that it was "no problem - that sort of thing happens all the time" and that I would be reimbursed as soon as I made the request for the money.
I did so, also by telephone, and was told that I would have to put the request through my Bank, since it was an on line payment transaction directly from them, so they would have to request the refund.
I got my bank to do so, and their request was rejected, with them being told that the request had to come from me.
I got back in touch with Convergia via email and was told to send the request through the bank a second time, which I did. In June 2008 I was assured that the money would be returned to my bank account within two weeks. It is now almost one year later, and I am still waiting.
Convergia gave me nothing but the classic run around, and they kept my money, despite the fact that I had cancelled their service six month prior to making the mistaken payment.
I subsequently found out that I had overpaid them more than just the $92.25, and that they are actually holding $117.00 of my money - which they will not refund. I recommend that your subscribers and readers NOT do business with this company.
