In August 2007, I filled in a questionnaire, on line, indicating "interest" that I had in outdoor products and magazines. I received first copies from the three magazines (all distributed by same company) to review. I decided the three magazines I reviewed were not of interest to me. I was sent invoices, but NO OTHER COPIES of magazines. Now 6 mos later I have been placed in Collections ASA, North Shore Agency, and Rodale Bad Debt File.
I review many magazines, some which I then purchase, others I do not purchase and do not send a cheque for. They are then discontinued.
Howevere this collection company has already contacted Credit Burea and their letters are increasingly hostile. I have written them today, and am going to pay for them, even though I do NOT want them.
Can you advise me whether this tactic of collections is valid. I have never had this problem before.
The company Collection Manager at each magazine is Vincent Maretti
