Concorde Security
Tokenism and discrimination in hiring visibly disabled people

I contacted Liz Henze at Concord about positions they're hiring security officers for, they do a lot of malls she is a cute she was interested in my coming in for an interview until I mentioned I have to use a power wheelchair for mobility and then the excuse started IE you could not do first aid and that's bogus first aid, is normally done from the kneeling position because the victim is normally on the ground then there was how would you respond to a fire. You would pull the fire alarm and people know when they hear the fire alarm that they need to leave the building this one and on until I said look is your discriminating against someone who is disabled and in a wheelchair with your excuses do I have to go to human rights Council of Canada and file a complaint at which point she hung up rather than trying to resolve the issue I corresponded with the head of their human resources Department a Aaron Eaton and I voiced my complaint aboutMiss Liz Henzeand her attitude to make a long story short I was accused of trying to bully my way into a job by threatening to go to Canada's human rights Council and the fact is I caught this pair in a lie! They try to tell me that security licensing and the attorney general department of British Columbia had to approve any job sites that a guard with a limited license would be assigned to this does not sound right and I called the security licensing department and asked them and was informed they do not approved or disapproved sites they just want to know where a person with a limited license would be working, and all the company applying for the security guards license is indicate an application that the guard is disabled and give a list of job sites that person will work just so government knows where they are working. Now apparently Concorde has a few token disabled people in going to the very small area I've not seen one person wearing a Concorde security uniform that is in a wheelchair I have seen a few limping like they were using a prosthesis so what appear that Concord security does not have anyone in a wheelchair in a high visibility position but does employ a few mobility challenged people so they can claim they are illegal opportunity employerunfortunately Canada has nothing like the American disabilities act that would provide an easy way to keep employers like this honest in their hiring practices and not resort to outright lies by claiming the government of the one stopping them from hiring someone with nothing more than prejudice on their part my last e-mail to Mr. Eaton I politely asked for a interview and in reply I received a very cold e-mail accusing myself mishandling the entire affair I might point out I was not the one who lied about the government saying who they could could not hire or where they place them both Mr. Eaton and his subordinate Liz Henze also try to claim that it was public safety was the reason the government would say no to hiring someone handicapped in a wheelchair and that is a lie!! At this point on doing more investigation of the company I would not want to work for them but it would be nice to see them quit the lying and actually hire someone who is otherwise qualified to work in a mall and not return down because they're in a wheelchair
