Property Manager Stewert Emery
Pet by laws

Hi there,

I am in need of some major help. We purchased a condo a year and half ago. We were not given any by laws or rules. And since the people before us had never known any different either. We got a letter in the mail about our dogs. Our property manager wants us to remove the dogs after already living here for a long period of time. They have never been any trouble. But he said that he got a complaint saying that our one dog jumped at the fence and was barking at this person. Which was standing about 10 feet away staring at him. They are always on a leash, put onto their leads when in the backyard and have never distroyed the property, no excessive barking, and have never hurt anyone. Our neighbors don't ever have problems with them living next door to us. He said that if he dogs are not removed that we will get charged $50.00 a day. Which will put a lien on our unit. I don't think that this is fair at all. We didn't even know this would ever be an issue. Since this is a pet friendly complex. And their are lots of people with dogs. The previous owners had a dog and never had to get rid of him and he bit people all the time. Can he put a a lien against our house for something that we didn't know. Just because he doesn't like our dogs shouldn't mean that we need to suffer for it. I think he is just lashing back at us because we ere complaining that work around here doesn't get done. We have foundations cracks in our unit that he hired someone to come and silicon the crack with kitchen silicon glue. Our front step is lopsided. Our fencing is falling over. Someone ran into the side of our unit Canada day and it still isn't finished. And it's not the restoration company's fault. The insurance company and him take for ever to sign any paperwork that they need. I had to all the running around to invesigate everything. He caouldn't even pick up the phone or write a letter to ask how everything is coming along. I have also heard of other people in the complex that are having problems with him as well. Some one please help me. I need proof that he cannot put a lien against our house and make us get rid of our best friends...
