Lost My Dog
My husband and I took our 4 year old dog to this doggy daycare while our house was being repaired after a flood. We paid for a total of 5 weeks and 1 day of daycare in advance. On the 7th day of daycare we received a call that the owner's husband had neglected to ensure that the front door was closed before opening the gate that kept the dogs in the facility. Our dog ran out and the owner did not catch her. The dog was missing for 2.5 days, seen running on very busy roads and it was only through the help of strangers and Facebook and the fact that thousands of people in the city were watching for her that we eventually tracked her down. The daycare had no contingency plan to find my dog. They did not file a report with bylaw or the Humane Society, and did everything they could to prevent their name from being heard in relation to my missing dog. By the time we found our dog they had stopped communicating with us entirely. When I let them know that we had found her they did not even reply until the next day. I asked for my money back and so far have heard nothing. This terribly unprofessional service suggests that they cannot be trusted to take proper care of dogs, and certainly are of no help if a dog goes missing on their watch!
