I recieved a check from Penson Financial Services, Inc. 1700 Pacific Ave., Ste. 1400 Dallas, TX 75201 for $3, 044.75 saying I was the 3rd Grand Prize Winner for the Readers Digest Sweepstakes of $150, 000.00. The inclosed check was for coverage of insurance, handling, duty and taxes fees.
It stated that once these fees are payed I will recieve a certified cashiers check within 24 hours. The letter also told me not to attempt to cash or verify the check before speaking with their agent as a stop payment is on it. The letter was signed by FRANK LUCAS, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR with a phone # 1-514-561-7765. This is a complete SCAM. I did not call the #, but did google some info to find out this scam.
