I received a letter with a check made out to myself in the amount of $2, 490.00 from Erewhon natural foods market in LA. It gave me a reference number that I a supposed to keep confidential until I contact my claims agent Lindsay Hoagland at (450) 675-7715.By reverse lookup at the phone number it is identified as being a cell phone in St. Jerome Quebec.
When I called and talked to this woman she made it sound very convincing that I had indeed won money, and the check that had been sent was for the clearing fees which I would need to pay to an attorney that would be assigned to my account. I would need to deposit this check into my account and in 2-3 business days that I would need to call them back where I would talk to an attorney that was in charge of my account. He would be drawing up tax papers for me and would be cutting me a check for the rest of the amount I had won, $51, 410.00.
I asked her many questions, what survey had I filled out which I was told the attorney would have that info. Where was their main corporate office which she said was in New York but didnt have the phone number for it. When I asked for the office number where she worked she stated it was the number that had been sent in the letter. However this number went directly to her and wasnt answered by anyone else.
This actually really makes me mad because it made me almost believe it because were so strapped for cash, I thought it might be an awesome x-mas surprise! I would love to see these kinds of ppl go to jail for crap like this.
