Today, I recieved a letter in the mail from a company named: Consumer Reserach Company. I assumed it was a scam, but I figured I would check it out to make sure. The letter stated that I would be a mystery shopper. I had to go to 3 of the selected stores for my first evaluations. Which I would be allowed to spend $300 at the stores.
Then, for my second evaluation, I would have to send them a money gram in the amount of $3, 079.50. After reading the acceptance form, It became very clear that this couldn't be the real deal. At the bottom of the page, there is a small paragraph in fine print stating that I am 18 years of age, I agree to my salary of $300 and such. What caught my eye was that there were over 20 spelling mistakes.
A few things threw me off that it was a scam. The letter has a Canadian address and a New York address. I never participated in a survey saying that I wanted information or such. The check does look very authentic. But I wouldnt waste my time or money cashing it.
I just wanted to give everyone a heads up!
